TEXT: "The best conservative governor
in America" - The Atlanta
Journal-Constitution 12/1/03
TEXT: "One of the
nation's most steadfast and cutting-edge conservative governors" - St. Petersburg Times 2/16/03
TEXT:
"His
conservative,
anti-tax,
small
government,
pro-business
message
resonated beyond Republicans" - Orlando
Sentinel
Op
Ed,
12/10/06
Bush (audio and CPAC 2015
clips): Florida is a place where conservative principles have
helped not just Republicans but everybody.
...The record of accomplishment, of getting things done.
We created a world
class business climate...1.3 million net new jobs were created in eight
years.
TEXT:
"9.5
billion
rainy day fund" Time
2/27/15
I left the
state with $9.5 billion of reserves. They called me Veto Corleone
because we did veto 2,500 line items in the budget totalling $2 billion.
TEXT:
"Nation's
first
statewide voucher
plan" - Associated Press - 04/27/99
We had the first statewide voucher program and we have more school
choice in Florida both public and private than any state in the country.
This nation needs to start growing at a far faster rate than we're
growing today.
We have to offer
compelling alternatives to the failed tax policies, the failed
regulation policies, a broken education system...
TEXT:
"Jeb
Bush:
Strict 'limits' to the
federal government's role in education" - Washington Examiner - 2/10/15
The federal government has no role in the creation of standards,
either directly or indirectly. The federal government has no role
in the creation of curriculum and content. The role of the
federal government, if there's any, is to provide incentives for more
school
choice.
TEXT:
"Jeb
the
pro-life conservative" - Politico
Magazine
1/29/15
I also believe that the most vulnerable in our society need to be
protected. I'm pro-life.
TEXT:
"Border
Security
as
a
First Priority" - The
Tampa Bay Times 11/30/10
A great country needs to enforce borders for national security
purposes, public health purposes and the rule of law.
Let's control the border...
There is no plan to deport 11 million people.
We should give them a path to legal status, where they work, where
they don't receive government benefits, where they don't break the law,
where they learn English, and where they make a contribution to our
society.
We need to stand for a strong national defense and the defense of
the homeland, restoring a love of our country and its heritage and its
tradition, and expanding that love in a way that gives people
confidence they can rise up, that they can live the American Dream has
to be one of the prime responsibilities of the next president of the
United States.
Notes: A solid 2-minute
video built on clips from Bush's CPAC speech. The background
music plus SFX when the text screens are run create added energy.
Background cheers and applause on the audio track are limited but very
noticeable and likely juiced up in the section where Bush describes the
path to legal status.
