National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee to Reach 13 Million Listeners in New Awareness Campaign
Ads
on the nationally syndicated “Sean Hannity Show” will encourage
grassroots conservatives to clamor for Dr. Carson to run for the 2016
presidential nomination.
Merrifield, Va.—April 2, 2014—The National Draft Ben Carson
for
President Committee today announced a new awareness campaign to enlist
more grassroots conservatives in its effort to draft Dr. Ben Carson
into the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. The 30-second and 60-second radio ads will
air during the nationally syndicated “Sean Hannity Show” for four weeks
beginning April 7.
“The National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee will
not rest
until we’ve reached every grassroots conservative with the message that
Dr. Ben Carson is our nation’s best hope for restoring financial and
moral sanity to the White House,” said Vernon Robinson, the Committee’s
campaign director. “Dr. Carson has said it would be ‘un-American’ for
him not to pay attention if the American people are clamoring for him
to run. Hundreds of thousands have already signed petitions asking Dr.
Carson to run, and this new awareness effort will reach millions more
who will no doubt want to join the clamoring.”
The campaign includes two 30-second ads and two 60-second ads
that
highlight the importance of convincing Dr. Carson to enter the race for
the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. One 30-second ad and one
60-second ad will air every weekday from April 7 through May 2.
Hannity’s radio program is nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks
and reaches an estimated 13.25 million listeners every week. The
National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee ads were financed by
their loyal supporters through a special fundraising campaign.
“Dr. Carson is one of the top three potential candidates for
2016 in
large part because of the work the National Draft Ben Carson for
President Committee is doing,” said John Philip Sousa IV, national
chairman of the Committee. “Participation in the Committee’s efforts
and Dr. Carson’s showings in numerous polls illustrate the growing wave
of support for his candidacy, and the ads airing on ‘The Sean Hannity
Show’ will bring more supporters into the fold.”
Dr. Carson recently finished third in two Republican
presidential
straw polls, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and
the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference (NRLC). In January, Dr.
Carson overwhelmingly won the Linn County, Iowa, midterm caucus straw
poll with 87 percent of the votes. And 77 percent of respondents to a
recent poll of Tea Party activists said they support Dr. Carson.
In its first six months in operation, the National Draft Ben
Carson
for President Committee raised $2,837,401 – more than double the funds
raised in the first six months of the Draft Hillary effort. Nearly
47,000 individuals contributed to the campaign between August 21, 2013
and February 22, 2014. The average contribution amount was $45, with
many donors contributing more than once.
