Well in just a few moments we're going to be breaking into our groups--you'll be assigned your own special channel with your guide--but before we begin today, I wanted to just say a word to all the groups together.  Of all of the things we're going to do on the entire journey I personally can't think of anything that will probably have a greater impact on your life than what you're about to experience.  This is my third time to come.  I get emotion thinking about it, much less being here.

When Janet and I came almost three years ago it was just a sobering, surreal experience.  It's one thing to see photos; it's another even to go to Yad Veshem, which I've done dozens and dozens of times in Israel, but to go to Auschwitz... see the video >

This is the field in Krakow, Poland where Pope John Paul II delivered an incredible speech and gave mass to 2 1/2 million people. It was here on this place that he brought alive the hopes of the Polish people that one day freedom could truly exist for their country.  At it was here that in many ways was the conception of the freedom movement that would later take hold in the 1980s, we know as the Solidarity movement that ultimately brought about the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe and for that matter the world.  This was a seminal event for Poland to welcome back their formal cardinal, former bishop, and now Pope, and also in that moment for him to deliver a message that not only brought a great deal of encouragement to the people of Poland, but brought a real sense of peace and hope to the world.

The church bells of Arka Pana ring in the background here in Poland.  It is a beautiful place, a church built in the form of an ark here on our last day in this nation that is free today, and free not because there were political leaders who 30 and 35 years ago had great courage, but because there were spiritual leaders with great courage who helped create the Solidarity movement and who gave it the encouragement to keep going.  Today we see people in Poland who are the pioneers of that effort of freedom and we are encouraged and reminded that freedom rings where people trust God.  From here, it's on to London.

We're on the Eye of London, which is a wonderful way to see London from a panoramic view, North to South, East to West and behind me you can see the Parliament with the House of Lords and the House of Commons.  One of the things that has been remarkable in our trip to London is learning not only about the life, the political and governmental life of Maggie Thatcher but also learning something about her faith life, what she believed, how that influenced her policy-making, the convictions that she had, and the fact that they really weren't convictions, just based on her political ideology, but convictions that came deeply rooted from her personal faith that emanates back to her childhood and her minister father.  It's part of the story of Margaret Thatcher that, well, doesn't often get told, but it's the part of the story of Margaret Thatcher that needs to be told maybe most of all, and that's one of the reasons we're here, as we continue our journey of the Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul II tour.

Well the Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul tour unfortunately has had to come to an end, but I can't think of any better place to conclude it than here at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.  This incredible display of the history of President Ronald Reagan is an inspirational treasure.  If you haven't been here, you need to make plans to bring your family and come.  It'll make you fall in love with America all over again, and all of us who have been on this journey, I can tell you, we've fallen in love with America all over again.  I hope you've enjoyed the videos and you'll continue to watch them, and in the meantime on behalf of all those who have made the journey, God Bless.

Notes: in coordination with David Lane's American Renewal Project, Huckabee led a group of pastors and leaders from Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada on a ten-day tour titled "Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John Paul II: God Raising Extraordinary Leaders for Extraordinary Times."  The tour went to Krakow, London and the Reagan Library and was to "serve as a stark reminder of what can happen when people look the other way in the face of tyranny."
