New Pro-Cruz SuperPAC Up on the Air in Iowa
Backed by an initial $12,000 buy, a new SuperPAC in
support of Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign is up on the
air in Iowa with a sixty second spot.
The ad urges Cruz’s election “before it’s too late” and the PAC pledges
to expand to New Hampshire and South Carolina over the next ten days.
PAC spokesman Rick Shaftan explained that “Courageous Conservatives PAC
was created by grass-roots Ted Cruz supporters, who wanted to insure
their candidate was backed up by hard-hitting commercials clearly
saying why Cruz is the superior choice for Republican voters.”
The buy will reach 42 percent of likely caucus goers, Shaftan said,
noting the group intends to “take no prisoners” in the effort to elect
Cruz and said there was a concern that other pro-Cruz advertising was
“too weak” and “needed some kick.”
“We don’t need a million dollars to move the needle,” said Shaftan
referring to other pro-Cruz efforts. “Our targeted approach will
spend donor dollars more efficiently and with less overhead than any
other SuperPAC operating in the cycle. We’re very confident that
our $12,000 buy will move even more numbers than any other ad for Cruz
or anyone else this season.”
“Four years ago, we saw Mitt Romney pick apart conservatives whose weak
ads provided no counterpunch,” Shaftan said. “No one is going to
out-punch us. We are determined to win this election and we will
not allow those whose failures gave us Pelosi, Reid and two terms of
Obama to push their failure on us again.”
“We’re using highly targeted media to reach the conservative base and
make it very clear that Cruz is unique in his desire to take apart the
Obama Agenda, before it’s too late.”
