Hillary for America
"Real Progress Now" +
0:30 ad run in IA, announced Jan. 27, 2016.
[Music]
Clinton:
The
American
people
can't afford to wait for ideas that sound good on
paper but will never make it in the real world.
The
grandmother
who
has
to choose between paying for medicine and paying
rent can't wait.
The
single
mom
who
desperately needs a raise can't wait.
The
student
with
a
mountain of debt can't wait.
We
can
make
real
progress, right now.
Woman: I'm
caucusing...
Man: I'm caucusing...
Woman 2: I'm
caucusing for Hillary Clinton.
Clinton (voiceover):
I’m
Hillary
Clinton
and
I
approve
this
message.
Notes: This is one of the campaign's more effective ads to date, presenting one of its main arguments against Bernie Sanders and at the same time offering the promise of "real progress, right now." The ad intersperses scenes of daily life with a few clips of Clinton speaking at a campaign event. Compare to one of the Rubio closing ads "Listening" which does the same thing, but with a different approach.
The January
27
press release:
Two New Ads Frame the Choice
In the Closing Days Before Iowa
With
the Iowa caucus less than a week away, Hillary for America is airing
two new, final ads that frame the choice in this election, and that
encourage Democrats to caucus for Hillary Clinton.
The two ads, “Make a Difference” and “Real Progress,”
combine to make the case that Hillary Clinton is the one candidate who
will make a real difference in people’s lives and that the people of
Iowa “can’t wait” to achieve those results. These ads will run along
with the “Children” ad released yesterday that uses a documentary-style
format to spotlight Hillary Clinton’s lifelong record of fighting for
women and families.
The ads encourage Iowans to caucus on February 1st.
The new 30-second and 60-second spots are part of the campaign's
ongoing buy in Iowa and will run alongside previously released ads.
