"Religious Liberty" +

0:30 ad to run on cable and online in Iowa from May 19, 2015.

[Music]

Jindal: Our religious liberty must in no way ever be linked to the ever-changing opinions of the public.

We must understand that our freedom of conscience protects all Americans of every persuasion.  These are rights endowed by our Creator, given humanity by God above.

The United States of America did not create religious liberty.  Religious liberty created the United States of America.  [applause]

Notes: From the May 19 press release:

Spokesman for the American Future Project, Henry Goodwin said:

"This is an issue on which Governor Jindal has been leading the public debate on for over a year.  In a speech at the Reagan Library in February 2014, he warned of the left's coming assault on religious liberty.  Now that prophecy has become reality."

Speaking about religious liberty, Governor Bobby Jindal said:

"We are at a cross roads in American history. We must ask ourselves if we are going to stand up for the First Amendment, or forever lose our freedoms of conscience and faith. I am confident that the American people will fight to protect all of their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

"I will make a decision on whether to seek the Republican nomination after the legislative session in Louisiana ends on 11 June.  Whether or not I choose to run for our nation's highest office, I will continue to defend the First Amendment and champion the cause of religious liberty."

Background:

The American Future Project is a 527 organization, which advocates for conservative policy solutions to build a strong American future.
