Religious Liberty Advisory Committee

Jeb’s Religious Liberty Advisory Committee is a coalition of political and religious leaders that will help Jeb identify threats to the First Amendment and assist in crafting strategies to protect our first freedom. The full committee list is below.

“Jeb understands the critical importance of religious liberty and is personally and passionately committed to its preservation. No one at the top tier of politics has demonstrated a greater commitment to the cause of religious liberty than Jeb. I’m honored to be a part of his team.”  Robert Schenck, President, National Clergy Council

“I’m honored to serve as a member of Governor Bush’s Religious Liberty Advisory Committee. Jeb is committed to safeguarding the rights of religious believers and to ensuring that religious freedom retains a robust place in our society. As religious liberty comes under increasing attack, we need a President like Jeb who understands the importance of religious freedom and who will stand up for the rights of religious believers to freely and openly live their faith.” – S. Senator Orrin Hatch

“With our religious liberty under unprecedented attack, we desperately need a President like Gov. Jeb Bush who truly comprehends the foundational significance of freedom, and has a proven record of embracing and standing firm with us on our concerns.” – Representative Jim Kallinger, former FL State Representative

“I am honored to endorse Governor Bush for President of the United States.  I am convinced he will provide the leadership to ensure the men and women in the military will be guaranteed the right to practice their faith without any fear of retribution.”  – Major General Charles Baldwin, U.S. Air Force (ret.), former Chief of Chaplains for the U.S. Air Force

“Jeb Bush has demonstrated that he has the leadership experience America needs at this critical time.   He has also shown that he will defend the Constitution’s protection of religious freedom and respects the many faiths that are observed in our diverse nation.” – Jane Abraham, Chairman of the Board, SBA List

“I have known Jeb Bush for decades, and have discussed most of the issues of our time with him. As a life-long conservative, I find it easy to support Jeb with enthusiasm. Bush is a man of great integrity; he listens to the advice of others, and genuinely loves and cares about all people. Jeb has a passion for protecting our Constitution, and fighting to preserve our basics religious liberties. He shares the values we hold dear, and has a proven life-long record of protecting life and liberties.” – Deborah DeMoss Fonseca, former Senior Policy Advisory, Marco Rubio for Senate, former Senior Professional Staff Member, U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and former Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Senator Jesse Helms

“Governor Bush understands that religious liberty is not just the first freedom protected in our Bill of Rights, but a fundamental freedom of civic society.  As President, Governor Bush will govern our country according to this principle.” – Geoffrey Surtees, Senior Counsel, American Center for Law and Justice

“No candidate for the presidency has spoken out as clearly and reasonably about religious freedom and the right of conscientious objection as has Governor Bush. Speaking to the media recently he called for protecting the right of conscience while likewise respecting opposing views, and for allowing people of conscience to act on their faith yet also avoiding discrimination. These comments show how clearly the governor understands the issues surrounding religious freedom in the United States.  He is an effective leader proposing a fair and practical framework for dealing with the issues and enhancing, rather than undermining, our personal liberty.”– Ambassador Francis Rooney, former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See
