Following Donald Trump’s last night, People For the American Way President Michael Keegan released the following statement:

“We’re profoundly troubled that a man who has stood so vehemently against fundamental American principles will become the next President of the United States. This is not business as usual. Trump spent his campaign attacking immigrants, people of color, Muslims, women, and so many others. He’s challenged First Amendment freedoms and shown a deep disregard for our Constitution.

“Over the course of Trump’s presidency, People For the American Way will work harder than ever to defend the rights of every American. We will continue to combat extremism no matter who or where it comes from, and we will fight hard to protect the American Way.”
