Dem-NPL selects delegates to Democratic National Convention

(BISMARCK, ND) – This past Saturday, over 400 delegates and alternates attended the Democratic-NPL State Delegate Selection Meeting in Bismarck to select delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The Dem-NPL delegates selected 18 delegates and two alternates based proportionally on the June 7 caucus results, with 13 allocated to Sen. Bernie Sanders and five allocated to Secretary Hillary Clinton. Each candidate was allocated one alternate.

“North Dakota Democrats are excited about the 2016 election, and the energy and enthusiasm of our delegates on Saturday demonstrated that,” said Dem-NPL Chair Kylie Oversen. “Our party's message of bringing people together is in stark contrast with Donald Trump’s brand of exclusion and division. In that light, we are proud that our delegates elected the most diverse Democratic National Convention delegation that we’ve ever seen.”
