The Democratic campaigns waged an intense battle over the airwaves.  Hillary for America ran at least 11 different TV ads, including ones aimed at Latinos, African-Americas and Upstate voters.  Bernie 2016 ads targeted Wall Street banks and fracking; one of the ads sought to associate him with FDR. On April 19, NBC News reported that the Sanders camapign had spent twice as much as the Clinton campaign, $5.6 million to $2.8 million.

Radio ads??

There was little advertising on the Republican side.  The Trump campaign spent $67,000 to run a radio ad.  The Cruz campaign ran a couple of ads keying off New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.  The pro-Cruz Trusted Leadership PAC reported it was spending "$500,000 on radio, television and digital advertising in New York State."  (Time, citing data from The Tracking Firm, reported $430,000 went to cable TV and radio and $110,000 to digital ads and phone calls).  The pro-Kasich New Day Independent Media Commitee, Inc. ran an ad targeting Cruz and his "New York values" quote.
