How to become a delegate to the Republican National Convention
Procedure:
A
potential candidate for Delegate and/or Alternate to the Republican
National Convention must secure by petition the signature of
twenty-five (25) members of a town, city, county, or state committee.
The petition must be submitted to the VTGOP along with a $10
processing fee and bio no later than April 29, 2016. This can be
done
by e-mailing Jeff Bartley at jeff@vtgop.org or mailing payment
Delegates
and alternates to the Republican National Convention will be elected at
the State Straw Poll and Presidential Delegate Nominating Convention on
May 21, 2016.
Candidates for delegate to the Republican National
Convention will received a complete list of delegates and alternates to
the State Convention. The VTGOP will also, prior to the State
Convention, mail a copy of each candidate’s bio to delegates and
alternates.

Qualification:
A candidate for delegate and/or alternate to the Republican National
Convention must be:
- A resident and registered voter in Vermont; and
- A current member of a town or city committee, county committee, or State Republican Committee; or
- An elected Republican currently serving in municipal, county, state, or federal office; or
- A former Vermont delegate to a Republican National Convention.
Important Dates:
Friday, April 29th: Last day to submit delegate petition,
processing fee and bio (200 words max).
Saturday, May 21st: State Straw Poll and Presidential Delegate Nominating Convention
