Cheyenne –More than 500 Wyoming
Republican delegates and alternates
elected from each county and other friends and guests will gather in
Casper, Wyoming to conduct the Wyoming Republican State Convention on
April 14-16. These delegates will assemble at the Parkway Plaza to
elect 14 of Wyoming’s 29 National Delegates to the Republican National
Convention in Cleveland in July.
The Saturday morning session of the convention will feature a
representative from each of the active Republican Presidential
Campaigns. Presidential hopeful Senator Ted Cruz will appear in person
to speak to the delegates. Representing Donald Trump will be former
Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin. Governor
John Kasich’s campaign will be represented by the current Idaho
Governor Butch Otter.
The Wyoming GOP State Convention will take place from April 14-16 at
Parkway Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Casper. Wyoming will send
29 delegates to the National Convention, 12 of whom were elected at
County Conventions in March.
“Wyoming has a chance to play a critical role in determining who will
receive the Republican Party nomination.” Said Wyoming GOP Chairman
Matt Micheli. “Wyoming’s 29 delegates will have a voice for Wyoming at
the National Convention.”

Wyoming GOP Convention Attracts Standing Room Only Crowd!!
Sen. Cruz, Gov.
Palin, Gov. Otter to Address Convention Delegates
SATURDAY
SESSION
WILL
BE STREAMED LIVE
Casper, WY – The Parkway Plaza Convention Center is at
standing room only levels in anticipation of Saturday’s 2016 Wyoming
Republican State Convention where the State GOP’s final 14 delegates to
the National Convention will be selected.
GOP Presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz will speak to the delegates
Saturday morning while Idaho Governor Butch Otter will represent
candidate John Kasich and former Governor Sarah Palin will speak for
Donald Trump.
While having a number of high profile political personalities appear at
the convention is a first for a Wyoming GOP convention, it has also
brought about a sell-out crowd with very limited space available for
the Saturday morning session.
“While nothing would please me more than to have every single person
who wants to see these speakers in person be able to, safety measures
within the convention area must be respected and observed,” said
Wyoming GOP Chairman Matt Micheli. “While we have very limited space
available, and there are no guarantees, we will try to get in as many
as possible.
“The 2016 GOP presidential race has placed Wyoming in the middle of the
nomination fray, and the impact of Wyoming’s 29 delegates, while always
important, has risen to another level,” continued Micheli. “For that
reason and more, we will be live streaming the Saturday session of the
convention for the first time ever. It has always been my intention of
making this convention process as open and transparent as possible, and
by putting the process in front of all those interested, either in
person or on the web, I think we accomplish that goal.”
The Wyoming GOP 2016 Convention process begins Thursday with meetings
of the Platform and Resolutions Committees. Friday continues with the
Bylaws, Nominations, and Credentials Committees. The Saturday
convention begins at 8am and will continue throughout the day and gavel
out around 4:30pm. The national candidates are expected to speak
between 10-11am.
Live Streaming of the proceedings will begin at 9:30am and continue
until noon on the following websites:

Cruz Sweeps Wyoming - Acquiring 14 New Delegates
Cruz: "This is how elections are
won in America..... Grassroots are rising up."
HOUSTON, Texas -
Republican
Presidential candidate Ted Cruz released
the
following statement today after sweeping 14 delegates in Wyoming:
"We
had a tremendous show of grassroots support that resulted in a critical
victory at today's Wyoming Republican Convention. This victory
continues a momentum shift that started in Utah and carried through
Wisconsin, North Dakota and Colorado. Grassroots are rising up.
Republicans overwhelmingly elected delegates who will support us at the
national convention and nominate us to take on Hillary Clinton. This is
how elections are won in America. This is another step in our drive to
win a majority of Republicans to be the nominee."
