New Rand Paul TV Advertisement: Learn from Mistakes

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rand Paul for President today released a new advertisement highlighting the need for a conservative realist foreign policy in which our nation's leaders learn from mistakes we have made in the past, and secure our borders. This advertisement contrasts Senator Paul's views on national security with that of fellow senators and Republican Presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

Unlike Senators Cruz and Rubio, Rand Paul has always fought to defend our borders and protect our American interests.

The advertisement will begin airing on Monday, December 14th, prior to the CNN Republican Presidential debate.

TRANSCRIPT:
Voiceover: Iraq... two thousand five. Hundreds of Americans had been killed in roadside bomb attacks.

And six were killed in attacks linked to al Qaeda terrorists, Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi.

A sniper and bomb maker, Alwan bragged he ate Americans for "lunch and dinner."

Kentucky... two thousand and nine.

Alwan and Hammadi were welcomed into America by the federal government, given public housing, and public assistance... as refugees.

Here, they attempted to send heavy arms to al Qaeda and plotted an attack on an Army captain in America.

And yet, some refused to learn from mistakes...

Senator Ted Cruz: We have welcomed refugees -- the tired, huddled masses for centuries. That's been the history of the United States. We should continue to do so.

Senator Marco Rubio: Well, we've always been a country that's been willing to accept people who have been displaced, and I would be open to that...

Voiceover: But Rand Paul sounded the alarm...

Sean Hannity: It is almost a certainty, ISIS will infiltrate. Why would we take one of these people?

Sen. Rand Paul: Well, you know, this is one of the reasons I opposed Rubio's bill originally on immigration, because I didn't think there's enough scrutiny for those who might come and attack us.

Voiceover: Rand Paul wrote the amendment to suspend visas to nations with high risks of terrorism... but Marco Rubio voted "no."

Rand Paul is leading the fight to stop terrorism at our borders and protect Americans first.

Anti-Huckabee Commercial to Run on CNN & FOX News around Tomorrow's GOP Debate

Huckabee Hit on Maurice Clemmons' Pardon

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Truth Squad 2016, the Super PAC formed in June 2015 to oppose Mike Huckabee will air its first commercial in Las Vegas beginning today to remind voters about his deplorable record as governor of Arkansas. The innovative animated commercial titled “Pardon” will air 19 times on CNN and Fox News during and aroundtomorrow's Republican Debate on Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 pm (PST).  Huckabee will be appearing in CNN's Undercard Debate at 4:00 pm (PST).

WATCH THE COMMERCIAL:  CLICK HERE and Below

A :30 second version of “Pardon” will air a total of 19 times from Monday, December 14thto Wednesday, December 16th.  It will run on CNN Pre-Debate, during the Undercard Debate, between the two Debates, 6 times on CNN Newsroom, 4 times during Erin Burnett and Anderson Cooper, and various other times on FOX News and CNN over the three day period.

“If you’re in Las Vegas this week it will be hard to miss,” said Fred Karger, Campaign Director of Truth Squad 2016.  “We want to make sure voters know that Mike Huckabee released a record 1,033 prisoners while he was governor of Arkansas, twice the number of his three predecessors combined. One of those prisoners, Maurice Clemmons was released 97 years early and went on to murder four Lakewood, Washington police officers on November 29, 2009.  Huckabee should never have released Clemmons from prison and our commercial “Pardon” tells that story.”

Clemmons Murdered Four Police Officers

Truth Squad 2016 was launched on June 11, 2015 by Kim Renninger, whose husband Sgt. Mark Renninger was one of the four police officers murdered by Clemmons.  Mrs. Renninger told the Seattle Times in June that “The clemency issue should be the discussion. It’s a big decision with lasting effects. I think there’s a time and a place for clemency. But it has to be used wisely, not like Huckabee used it.”

“None of the families heard a word from Governor Huckabee," said Mrs. Renninger. “And he even told CNN at the time, that ‘if the same file was presented to me today, I would have likely made the same decision.’”

Clemmons had his 108-year prison sentence cut down to only 11 years, when Governor Huckabee granted him executive clemency and set him free.  As the commercial points out, this violent prisoner had accumulated 29 disciplinaries and zero achievements during his 11 years behind bars.

"My life, my young son’s life and the lives of the three other families of the fallen officers were forever changed. Nine children lost a parent because of Mike Huckabee," said Mrs. Renninger.

Huckabee's Willie Horton

“While Huckabee is low in the polls and appears not to be gaining any traction, we feel that his record as governor needs to get out,” said Karger. “This commercial, and the story it tells, may help hasten Huckabee’s departure from the presidential race. It goes right to his character, just as Willie Horton’s release from prison and subsequent crime spree helped defeat then Governor Michael Dukakis in 1988.”

The first of its kind animated commercial “Pardon” was created by designers and animators Cameron Mott and Tony Boserman. The voice-overs were done by professionals in Los Angeles.

Truth Squad 2016 is a Super PAC registered with the Federal Election Commission I.D. #C00579243

Nevada Progressive Coalition To Hold a #NoHateDebate Rally/Protest Ahead of Republican Debate

Local and national activists from women's, immigrant rights, and working families groups, and labor allies have joined forces to hold Republican candidates accountable for their rhetoric ahead of the GOP Debate in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGASOn Tuesday, local, state and national progressive groups, activists and labor allies will come together in front of the Venetian Hotel and Casino to hold candidates accountable for the hateful rhetoric that has been coming out of the GOP presidential field. We know that the debate will be held at anti-union GOP mega-donor Sheldon Adelson’s hotel and that his money has been fueling this type of speech over the years along with other mega-donors like the Koch brothers. The rally will include many of the groups that are currently being impacted by the hate speech that is coming from the Republican field. Joining the coalition will be prominent immigrant rights groups and activists, social justice groups, local unions and workers, women’s rights groups, gun violence prevention groups, groups dedicated to fighting for equal pay and minimum wage and more. This diverse coalition of local, state, and national groups are raising our voices together to say Enough! We Demand a #NoHateDebate!

Whether it’s on the debate stage or on the campaign trail, the candidates must end their slurs and attacks on America, renounce their discriminatory proposals, call out the other candidates who are saying hateful things, and instead offer real solutions to the issues affecting our families and communities.

Nevada is the make-or-break state for every candidate. If candidates cannot win in Nevada—with its growing and changing demographics of Latinos, Asian Americans, African Americans, and women—they can’t win the White House. And unless a candidate embraces the issues impacting the ‘New Rising American’ electorate, they have no chance.

WHEN: Tuesday, December 15, 2015
Rally Time: 12:35 pm

WHERE: In front of the Venetian Hotel and Casino

3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

SPEAKERS: To Be Announced
