California Democratic Legislative Women's Caucus Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

Clinton has been fighting for women and girls her entire career—and she’s the fighter California women need

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, the California Democratic Legislative Women’s Caucus endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. Clinton has been fighting for women, girls and families throughout her career, and as president she will continue to break down the barriers that hold too many California families back. Clinton is committed to fighting for equal pay, paid family leave, quality affordable childcare, access to quality healthcare as well as other initiatives to support women and families.

“Hillary Clinton is leading the fight to ensure that women are valued in the workplace," said Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, chair, California Legislative Women’s Caucus. "She understands that women are still only earning 79 cents on the dollar as compared to men -- and often that is just not enough to adequately take care of themselves and their families. While we have made significant progress in California with the passage of my equal pay bill, the California Fair Pay Act, there is still much work to do across the nation. With Hillary Clinton in the White House, I am confident that our mothers, sisters and daughters across the nation will be given the opportunities they deserve for a brighter future."

“We have made huge strides in California to pass laws that keep our state moving ahead," said Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, vice-chair, California Legislative Women’s Caucus. "From forward-thinking equality standards, to improving our schools for students statewide, to helping those who are working the hardest to make ends meet, Hillary Clinton will continue the work we've started in Sacramento all the way to the White House.”
