State Director John Powe
Powe served as Alabama state director on Obama's 2008 campaign. Chief deputy tax assessor for Jefferson County since Nov. 2010. Accountant for the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources, June 1999-Nov. 2010. He has been involved with campaigns in Alabama since 1986 and has managed a number of them, including Lee Wendell Loder for Council in Birmingham (1998, 2000, 2002), Oliver Robinson for state Representative (1997, 2001, 2005) state Sen. Sandra Escott's 2001 re-election campaign. B.A. in economics from Talladega College, 1993.
Chairman Nancy Worley
(from April 22 , 2013) Taught school for 25 years in Decatur, Alabama; elected and served two terms as president of the Alabama Education Association (1983-84, 1995-97). M.A. from Jacksonville State University, 1975; B.A. from University of Montevallo, 1973. Lifelong resident of Alabama; grew up on a family farm in New Hope (Madison Co.).
