(first elected chairman in Nov. 2006)   At-Large Member of the Council of the District of Columbia since she was appointed to fill vacancy in Dec. 2012; elected in 2013 special election.  Director of corporate relations for Fort Myer Construction, Inc..  Director of development for Africare. Employed at Georgetown University, and was instrumental in the creation of the Center for Social Justice, Research, Teaching and Service.  Served in the administrations of Mayors Anthony Williams, Sharon Pratt Kelly and Marion Barry.  Worked on the presidential campaigns of Walter F. Mondale, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Sen Edward M. Kennedy.  Extensive experience on DC campaigns in the 1970s and 80s.  Graduate of U.C.
