RNC Statement On Latest Clinton Email Release

After Midnight & Holiday Dumps, RNC Chairman Calls On Clinton To Demand A More Transparent Process

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus issued the following statement after the State Department released another batch of Hillary Clinton emails, bringing the total number containing classified material to over 1,300:

“The more we learn about Hillary Clinton’s secret server the worse it gets,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Now with dozens of additional emails found to be classified, we know Hillary Clinton exposed classified material in more than 1,300 messages, including information that was classified at the time it was sent as well at some of the highest levels. Hillary Clinton’s pursuit of secrecy at the expense of national security was undeniably reckless and shows she cannot be trusted in the White House.

“What’s more, Hillary Clinton said she wanted the public to see her emails but instead they’re getting buried by her friends in the Obama Administration. In the interest of transparency, Hillary Clinton must call on the State Department to commit to a more open process  – releases in the middle of the night and on holidays are an obvious attempt to hide the truth. So much for the self-declared ‘most transparent person in public life’ and ‘most transparent administration in history.’”

RNC Statement On Obama Administration’s Politically-Motivated Request To Delay Clinton Email Release

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement in response to the State Department's blatant attempt to delay further Clinton email releases until after the votes are counted in the key early nominating states:

“It’s clear that the State Department’s delay is all about ensuring any further damaging developments in Hillary Clinton’s email scandal are revealed only after the votes are counted in the early nominating states. The American people should be outraged at the Obama Administration’s gamesmanship to protect someone who recklessly exposed classified information on more than 1,300 occasions, including highly sensitive Top Secret intelligence.

“A ruling in favor of this blatant attempt to shield Hillary Clinton from accountability would further erode trust in our political system. Hillary Clinton has already violated the public trust by putting our national security at risk in order to skirt transparency laws. Let’s hope her friends at the State Department aren’t allowed to continue doing the same.”

RNC Statement On The State Department’s Failure To Comply With Court Order To Produce Hillary Clinton’s Emails

Priebus: Delay “Reeks Of Political Favoritism Designed To Hide The Ball From Voters On The Eve Of Early State Voting.”

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus issued the following statement on the State Department’s failure to meet its court-ordered deadline to release the final batch of Hillary Clinton’s emails:

“Today’s filing is further proof that the Obama Administration would rather flaunt an order from a federal judge than reveal just how badly Hillary Clinton’s reckless conduct jeopardized our national security. The notion that a months-long process could be hit with 11th hour delays reeks of political favoritism designed to hide the ball from voters on the eve of early state voting.

“The State Department’s failure to send thousands of pages of emails for review by other agencies indicates there are potentially more damaging revelations involving Clinton’s exposure of classified material on her secretemail server. Voters deserve to know the facts before they cast their ballots, not after. Hillary Clinton’s actions violated the public trust and now it appears the Obama Administration is content to do the same.”

RNC Statement In Response To FBI Formally Confirming Clinton Email Investigation

WASHINGTON  – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement in response to the FBI formally confirming an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s secret email server:

“The FBI’s announcement confirms the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s secret email server is far from the routine ‘security review’ she has claimed. Clinton’s conduct was a severe error in judgment that grossly endangered our national security and put highly classified information at risk. This development is another reminder Hillary Clinton cannot be trusted with the presidency.”

RNC Statement On The Latest Court-Ordered Release Of Clinton’s Emails

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the latest court-ordered release of Hillary Clinton’s emails, which brought the total containing classified material to nearly 1,700:

“With the number of emails found to contain classified information climbing to nearly 1,700, Hillary Clinton’s decision to exclusively conduct official business on an unsecure email server in her basement looks even more reckless. This court-ordered release is another reminder that Hillary Clinton’s attempt to skirt transparency laws put our national security at risk and that she failed to meet her legal obligations to protect classified information as Secretary of State. Considering how brazenly she exposed sensitive material, it isn’t surprising President Obama’s former Defense Intelligence Agency Director thinks she should drop out of the presidential race.

“With Clinton now tied to three federal investigations by the State Department and FBI, buyer’s remorse must be growing amongst the Democrat establishment who have gone out of their way to rig the nominating process in her favor. As the results in Iowa and New Hampshire have shown, even Democrats find Clinton’s dishonesty and untrustworthiness unacceptable.”

RNC Statement On The Latest Court-Ordered Release Of Clinton’s Emails

WASHINGTON -- Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on today’s court-ordered release of emails from Hillary Clinton’s secret server, which brought the total number containing classified information to more than 1,720:

“Every court-ordered release of Hillary Clinton’s emails is yet another reminder of just how recklessly she handled classified material and jeopardized national security. Hillary Clinton’s friends at the State Department continue to try and shield the Clinton culture of deceit by shamelessly scheduling a document dump for a Friday night. With State Department and FBI investigations into her email in full swing, it’s no wonder Americans increasingly see her as too dishonest and untrustworthy to be president, and voters caucusing in Nevada this Saturday will have the opportunity to hold her accountable for her secrecy and poor judgment.”

RNC Statement On The Latest Court-Ordered Release Of Emails From Hillary's Secret Server

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement after the latest court-ordered State Department release of emails from Hillary Clinton’s secret server:

“Each court-ordered email release serves as an alarming reminder of Clinton’s reckless and dangerous disregard for national security. In her shameless attempt to skirt transparency laws, we now know Clinton created an environment where more than 1,800 classified emails were allowed to be sent or received on an unsecured secret server.  Clinton’s misguided belief that she can play by a different set of rules than everyone else and her endless pursuit of secrecy above all else is a dangerous combination and does not reflect the character we want in our next commander-in-chief.  Democrats should decide whether they really want to nominate a candidate who could face severe legal repercussions in the middle of the campaign and who has so boldly violated the public trust with a complete disregard for our national security.”

RNC Statement On Final Court-Ordered Release Of Hillary Clinton's Emails

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on today’s court-ordered release of Hillary Clinton’s emails:

“On more than 2,000 occasions, Hillary Clinton recklessly jeopardized our national security and sensitive diplomatic efforts by using a secret, unsecure email server to send and receive classified material, including ‘Top Secret’ intelligence. This was information so sensitive, its exposure potentially put lives at risk.

“Clinton’s unprecedented email arrangement was a clear attempt to skirt government transparency laws and place her political interests ahead of those of the American people. This egregious error in judgment coupled with Clinton’s arrogant and dishonest claims to have followed the rules that she forced all other employees to follow should disqualify her from the presidency.”

RNC Statement On Latest Hillary Clinton Email Scandal Developments

WASHINGTON – Tonight, The Washington Post reported that the former IT staffer who ran Hillary Clinton’s secret email server was granted immunity by the Department of Justice, while a separate report from The New York Times revealed investigators are taking new steps to determine whether Clinton’s aides copied classified information onto unclassified systems. In response to these developments, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement:

“Hillary Clinton’s flimsy excuses for her unsecure email server are crumbling.  For months, Clinton has tried to deceive the American people about the nature of the FBI investigation into her unprecedented email setup. But new reports about her IT staffer being granted immunity, officials confirming ‘wrongdoing,’ and plans for her to be interviewed soon cast an ominous sign for Clinton and prove there’s more to this story.

"The fact is that in more than 2,000 messages, Hillary Clinton’s server jeopardized our national security and sensitive diplomatic efforts. This terrible error in judgment coupled with Clinton’s arrogant and dishonest claims shows she can’t be trusted with the presidency.”

RNC Files Lawsuits For Hillary Clinton’s State Department Records

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today filed two lawsuits in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to compel the State Department to produce records related to Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.  The records were previously requested from the State Department under FOIA in October and December of last year. No documents or information have been provided.

“The Obama Administration has failed to comply with records requests in a timely manner as required by law,” said Chairman Reince Priebus. “For too long the State Department has undermined the public and the media’s legitimate right to records under the Freedom of Information Act, and it’s time it complies with the law. If this administration claims to be the ‘most transparent in history,’ and Clinton the ‘most transparent person in public life,’ then they should prove it, release these records, and allow the American people to hold her accountable.”

BACKGROUND

The first lawsuit seeks electronic communications sent to and from then-Secretary Clinton via text or BlackBerry Messenger, as well as emails sent to and from several key senior aides: former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, former Director of Policy Planning Jake Sullivan, Undersecretary for Management Patrick Kennedy, and former IT Staffer Bryan Pagliano, whom The Washington Post reported last week was granted immunity for his cooperation with the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s server. This lawsuit focuses on those communications sent and received during Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

The second lawsuit seeks communications between senior officials at the State Department and the Clinton campaign and other allied entities. This lawsuit focuses principally on communications that were sent or received after Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

FOIA was intended to inform and educate citizens about their government and elected officials. Disclosure of the records requested in these lawsuits would carry out that purpose. The RNC seeks records that will ensure that the public has information to consider whether former Secretary Clinton is fit to serve as the next President of the United States.
