Hot Sauce

In a Jan. 2016 interview with NPR's All Things Considered, Hillary Clinton said she eats a hot pepper every day because of the "special immune-boosting characteristics" of the vegetable.  In an April 2016 interview with the urban hip hop radio show "The Breakfast Club" in advance of the New York primary Clinton said she always carries hot sauce in her purse.  One critic described this as "a clear attempt to snag New York's black vote," saying it was"clearly a reference to Beyonce's 'Formation,' in which she sings, 'I keep hot sauce in my bag, swag.'" (>)  Time magazine identified the sauce as "Ninja Squirrel, a Sriracha from the in-house brand of Texas-based Whole Foods Market." (>)
