Sen. Cruz Names Rick Tyler Senior Communications Advisor

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has named Rick Tyler senior communications advisor to his Jobs Growth and Freedom PAC, effective immediately.

“Rick’s 20 years of experience in conservative Republican politics make him a strong asset to our team as we continue to fight for limited government and advance the cause of liberty,” Sen. Cruz said. “His communications expertise will be invaluable to our operation, and Heidi and I are excited to have him on board.”

“I am honored to come on board with Sen. Cruz and join the effort to make D.C. listen to the American people,” Tyler said. “I believe he will emerge as the conservative leader of the next generation because he understands that it is not ‘we the bureaucrats,’ but ‘we the people’ who make this nation exceptional.”

Prior to his most recent position at the Strategy Group for Media, Tyler served for twelve years as press secretary and spokesperson to former Speaker Newt Gingrich. He also founded Renewing American Leadership, a faith-based not-for-profit organization created by the former speaker to promote values of family, faith, freedom and free-enterprise. Additionally, Tyler formerly served as a field trainer for GOPAC, training hundreds of candidates to lead successful campaigns for elected office in 26 different states. He was also executive director of the Maine Republican Party. Tyler resides in Virginia with his wife and daughter.
