My Faith Votes Launches National TV and Radio Campaign to Mobilize the Christian Votes in the 2016 Election, Saturating Chrisitian Media

My Faith Votes PSAs to run in 95 percent of US television households

DALLAS, TX., October 3, 2016 My Faith Votes, a non-partisan movement working for the engagement of Christian voters in the 2016 Election, has launched a national TV and radio campaign. The series of 23 public service announcements (PSAs) for television are running between 40 to 60 times daily, on an estimated 110 million U.S. households. In addition, a series of 12 radio PSAs are also being played by 205 stations in 29 states.  My Faith Votes is calling Christians across America to: PRAY. THINK. VOTE.

“This is by far our most ambitious attempt to date at reaching America’s 90 million Evangelicals with the message that their vote in this year’s election truly matters,” said Sealy Yates, founder and president of My Faith Votes. “Our televised PSAs are in 95 percent of America’s TV households, an unprecedented achievement for a non-partisan, religious movement like My Faith Votes.”

The TV and radio PSAs come as the latest addition in a series of initiatives My Faith Votes has recently implemented to encourage Evangelicals to participate in the 2016 Election.  In the last presidential election more than 25 million registered, Christians did not vote, and the last four elections were decided by an average of only 6 million votes.

“My Faith Votes continues to chart a new path, engaging evangelicals at a grassroots level, and reminding them that they have a moral obligation to vote,” said Johnnie Moore, national spokesperson for My Faith Votes.  “But, that’s not enough. We’re also focused on providing them with information, tools, and services to make voting more convenient.”

My Faith Votes has also established a partnership with TurboVote, a non-profit that provides an integrative application which makes voting easier by sending reminders and other helpful  information for Election Day. It also facilitates online voting and absentee ballot registration. My Faith Votes has also joined forces with The TurboVote Challenge which aims to reach 80 percent voter turnout by the 2020 Election. Other partners of The TurboVote Challenge include Starbucks, AirBnB, and Spotify.

Last month, on the 15th anniversary of 9/11, My Faith Votes held a live webcast entitled “Give Thanks” in order to honor first responders. Guest speakers at the event included author and radio host Eric Metaxas, Gov. Mike Huckabee, and artists Michael W. Smith and Charlie Daniels. The “Give Thanks” webcast reached over 590,000 people.  This month, My Faith Votes and honorary national chairman, Dr. Ben Carson, will partner again on the nationwide theatrical release of “Kirk Cameron’s REVIVE US: An Evening of Hope, Vision and Courage.”

As Election Day nears, the organization continues to host a weekly, interactive webcast entitled My Faith Matters LIVE. It’s website MyFaithVotes.org delivers a comprehensive set of voting resources for individuals, churches, and colleges. On social media, My Faith Votes has now reached 258,000 likes on Facebook, and has also embarked upon a nationwide college initiative working to engage  record numbers of Christian college students.

"My Faith Votes" Welcomes Dr. Ben Carson as National Chairman

With "My Faith Votes," Dr. Ben Carson to focus on the 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, but who chose not to vote in the 2012 election

During today’s CPAC address Dr. Ben Carson will announce he has agreed to serve as National Chairman of My Faith Votes, a non-partisan 501(c)(3) educational organization (http://www.myfaithvotes.com), leading a movement for a singular purpose: to motivate the 25 million Christians in America who are registered to vote, but who chose not to vote in the 2012 election, to vote in the upcoming elections.

“Nothing is more important to me than my personal faith, and it is my faith that motivated me to be involved in the political process to begin with,” said Dr. Ben Carson. “I believe Christians in this country can easily determine the next president of the United States and all other national and local leaders, should they simply show up at the polls. When we do vote, We The People will once again solidify our commitment to the Judeo-Christian values upon which our nation was founded.”

Anchoring the My Faith Votes mission will be a national media campaign – throughout all 50 states - that will intensify as the November election nears. The movement, which has received the endorsement of a number of the most significant Christian leaders in America, seeks to awaken millions of Christians across America to act upon their civic responsibility this November.

“In the last four presidential elections, an average of less than five million votes separated the major candidates.” said Sealy Yates, President of My Faith Votes, “yet more than 25 million Christians didn’t bother to even show up at the polls in 2012. We are committed to making sure that every Christian in America is engaged in this election cycle.”

On the same day Dr. Ben Carson signaled the suspension of his presidential campaign, he agreed to assume the role of National Chairman of the My Faith Votes movement.

“We could not be more thrilled with Dr. Carson’s involvement,” said Johnnie Moore, spokesperson for the My Faith Votes movement. “Dr. Carson is a truly inspirational figure who embodies the values of the Christian community in this country. His involvement in our movement has the potential to literally activate millions of Christians, re-engaging them in political process whomever they choose to support.”
