LG ELECTRONICS USA SELECTED AS OFFICIAL 4K ULTRA HD TV PROVIDER FOR POLITICAL CONVENTION
LG OLED Named ‘Official TV of 2016 Republican National Convention’
CLEVELAND,
July 24, 2016
– The 2016 Republican National Convention selected LG Electronics USA
as “Official 4K Ultra HD TV Provider” for the convention in Cleveland
last week. LG OLED also was named “Official TV of the 2016 Republican
National Convention.”
Under its agreement with Republican National Convention’s Committee on Arrangements, LG supplied displays that were installed throughout the main convention venue, the Quicken Loans Arena, as well as the media center for the estimated 15,000 media personnel in Cleveland providing worldwide news coverage.
All told, more than 400 LG 4K UHD displays were seen throughout the convention by delegates, government officials, VIPs and media in Cleveland for the July 18-21 event. LG OLED TVs were featured in high-profile VIP areas, including the U.S. Senate and House Cloakrooms, Republican Governors Association lounge and backstage greenrooms.
The LG flat-panel HDTVs, in various screen sizes, kept delegates, journalists and other convention participants informed of convention activities and other news as they navigated the various convention venues for meetings, interviews and other activities.
Complementing LG’s onsite presence for visitors to Cleveland was the company’s beachhead in the hospitality market. An estimated 13,200-plus hotel rooms in the Cleveland metropolitan area feature LG TVs.
