Gov. & Mrs. Kasich Launch National Women for Kasich Coalition

Today Ohio First Lady Karen Kasich joined her husband on the campaign trail for the launch of Women for Kasich, a national coalition of women supporting Governor Kasich's presidential candidacy.

A group of influential New Hampshire women attended the announcement of the new coalition in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and stayed for a meet-and-greet with the Kasich family afterward.

Said Governor Kasich, "It means so much to me that my wonderful wife and daughters are joining me on the campaign trail here in New Hampshire. Thanks to the hard work of our strong grassroots network we have a better ground operation in New Hampshire than any other campaign, and we're building on that here and across the nation with our first coalition, Women for Kasich.  My mission is to bring people together and, with our combined optimism, creativity and hard work, help Americans rebuild the opportunity and security we need so badly right now. Together we can do it."

"Our daughters and I are delighted to be here today in New Hampshire, where John has met so many incredible people this year," said Mrs. Kasich. "The launch of Women for Kasich puts a spotlight on much of what he has done to improve people's lives, especially women's lives, and work in an inclusive way. In Ohio, he's prioritized economic growth to create the kinds of opportunities that help all families move up. He's making a difference fighting human trafficking, infant mortality, drug addiction and other obstacles that hold back so many. Today we're fortunate to be with a group of women who share his passion for change with a purpose. It's that passion that is going to make the difference on February 9th."

Said Women for Kasich Co-Chair Leann Moccia, "Governor and Mrs. Kasich understand that what concerns women concerns everyone, and I couldn't be more proud to serve on the Women for Kasich coalition. As the team expands, we look forward to communicating the governor's message of balanced budgets, better national defense and stronger families to more voters in the months ahead."

Gov. Kasich is running for President to help Americans restore our nation, live in safety and pass on prosperity to those who come after us—and he’s got the experience to help us do it. He was reelected last year by a 30-point margin after working with his fellow Ohioans to turn an $8 billion shortfall into a $2 billion surplus, cut taxes $5 billion and create more than 300,000 new private sector jobs.  As chair of the Budget Committee in Congress he led the effort to balance the federal budget for the first time in a generation and served 18 years on the House Armed Services Committee where he helped enact President Reagan's national security agenda.  He has also had a successful career as an investment banker, New York Times best-selling author and at FOX News.  He and his wife Karen have twin teenage daughters and live in their home outside Columbus.
