GEORGE PATAKI
They
said no one could beat America's liberal lion Mario Cuomo.
George Pataki did it anyway. And what he accomplished as New York's Governor made history. REFORMED GOVERNMENT We have a runaway federal government because Washington says yes to everything. Real leaders know when to say no. Governor Pataki cut the state workforce by 15% and issued over 3000 vetoes, saving taxpayers billions of dollars. After the attacks of 9-11, Governor Pataki worked closely with President Bush and Mayor Rudy Giuliani to keep New Yorkers safe. He passed the most aggressive anti-terror laws in America and built the state's security infrastructure. REBUILT NEW YORK’S ECONOMY. TWICE. In 1995, Governor Pataki set about repairing one of the worst economic climates in America and grew New York’s economy by 700,000 jobs. The attacks of 9-11 hit the state s economy hard, he brought New Yorkers together once again to rebuild our economy. REDUCED TAXES. 90 TIMES. Who says you can't cut taxes in New York? Governor
Pataki implemented one of the largest tax cut agendas in American
history - passing over $140 billion in tax cuts
through a Democratic legislature.
When they
say it can't be done - AND
YET
YOU
DO
IT
ANYWAY.
"We The People, Not Washington” is a Super PAC formed to support Governor Pataki’s agenda to empower the citizens of our great nation, dismantle the perpetual growth and overreach of the federal government, end the Washington insider game and begin reducing the size of the federal government. We are promoting Governor Pataki’sideas because we cannot lose the debate in this election as we did in 2008 and 2012. America should have leaders with records of accomplishment, who are focused on the issues that matter and who have won tough elections despite challenging demographics. We are a grassroots effort to finally give We the People a
voice that can be heard over the
Washington insiders. Won’t you take action now to

make 2016 the year we took Washington back from
the insiders and gave it to We the People.
DRAIN THE D.C. SWAMP. Everyone is familiar with the phrase "too big to fail.” Governor Pataki believes "Washington has become too big to succeed.” Our nation’s capital is too powerful, too intrusive and too expensive. For decades, Americans have felt increasingly disconnected from the federal government, but under President Obama's policies we have reached a tipping point. The time has come for sweeping, fundamental reform. We must institute term limits for Congress and finally put an end to the fixed DC insider game by permanently banning retired members from lobbying. FIGHT ISLAMIC TERRORISM. Having experienced the devastation of terrorism up close on 9/11, Governor Pataki knows America must take a hard line against Islamic extremism. Our next President can’t begin with a worldwide apology tour; we need to take the fight to the terrorists directly. Governor Pataki is a vocal advocate of proactively pursuing terrorists before they attack our homeland again. He believes we must rebuild our military and ensure we have the capacity to protect America's interests. IT’STIME TO REFORM Revolutionize OUR TAX SYSTEM. In 1995 and for years before, New York was called a "tax hell” by Money Magazine. Governor Pataki changed that by implementing one of the largest tax cut programs in American history. Today our federal taxes are not only
too high, but they are riddled with
special interest loopholes and arcane
gimmicks that benefit the insiders
and the connected. Governor Pataki
believes we need to revolutionize our
tax code by making it fairer, simpler
and less onerous.
After graduating, George Pataki knew that his heart was in public service - working to find ways to implement positive change for his hometown, his state, and his nation. He began as Mayor of his hometown of Peekskill, New York, before going on to serve as a New York State Assemblyman, State Senator and eventually serving three terms as Governor of New York State. Governor Pataki built a legacy of cutting taxes, creating jobs and transforming New York State from one of the most dangerous to the safest large state in America. But he is best known for his smart and unwavering leadership following the terror attacks of September 11, when he was instrumental in both the immediate response and long term rebuilding of Lower Manhattan. The rebirth of Ground Zero, the renewal of confidence and the economic recovery in the months and years that followed are all a testament to his vision. George Pataki has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for 41 years. They have four children and numerous grandchildren. Pataki’s youngest son is an Army officer who recently returned from Afghanistan; his older son served as a Marine officer in Iraq and now works for the Knights of Columbus. Pataki’s younger daughter is a New York Times bestselling author, and his eldest daughter works in the legal department of Bloomberg LLP. Pataki is currently the President of his own small business.
