Bernie Stands with the Asian American & Pacific Islander Community

As President, Bernie Sanders will:

Make tuition free at public colleges and universities
Part of the American dream is to see our children go to college. This has become too expensive for working people, though. That's why Bernie Sanders will apply a tax on Wall Street to cover public colleges' tuition costs. When we are all educated, we are stronger together.

Help smalI businesses succeed and encourage entrepreneurship.
Sanders wants to make sure that small businesses have access to low-interest loans and other forms of support, so that they can thrive. At the same time, he will ensure super-rich and large corporations pay their fair share in taxes.

Provide universal health care coverage
As of 2014, over 1.9 million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders were uninsured. Bernie Sanders wants to create a Medicare for All system. We believe that having access to basic healthcare is a human right.

• Implement a fair and humane immigration policy
Bernie's father came to the U.S. from Poland with a nickel in his pocket. He understands that we are a nation of immigrants, and will provide relief by expanding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA).

• Protect Voting Rights
Will work to make voter registration automatic, because every single person should be able to realize his or her right to vote. He opposes voter identification requirements and proof of citizenship law.
