ILGOP, RNC Announce New State Director

The Illinois Republican Party in partnership with the Republican National Committee, is pleased to announce the hiring of Anthony Esposito who will serve as State Director for Illinois.  In this position, Tony will oversee get-out-the-vote operations in Illinois and implement a person-to-person grassroots organizing program. Under the RNC’s new model, the ground game will be built from the bottom-up, with staff and volunteers focused on communicating and engaging with voters at the neighborhood level.

“Tony’s expertise and experience will be invaluable as we work toward victories in 2014 and beyond,” said ILGOP Chairman Jack Dorgan.  “Democrats have taken Illinois voters for granted. We have an aggressive strategy to restore our two-party system by organizing the Republican Party in every community across the state and I’m confident we will build a winning operation.”

“Heading into 2014 the RNC is on the ground organizing in neighborhoods across the country earlier than we’ve ever done before,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “We are working with state parties and campaigns to build an infrastructure that will help us take back the Senate, keep the House and elect Republican governors, while laying the foundation for success in 2016. With our historic ground game investments we’re on a path to victory.”

Anthony Esposito most recently worked for Congress John Shimkus.  Prior to working for Rep. Shimkus, Tony served as the political director for the Illinois GOP and as Deputy Victory Director for the state in 2012.  Esposito also served as a legislative correspondent to Senator Mark Kirk.  He is a graduate of American University.
