RNC and Iowa GOP Announce Iowa State Director Hire

WASHINGTON – Today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) in partnership with the Republican Party of Iowa announced the hire of Chad Olsen as the RNC state director for Iowa. The RNC now has state directors and support staff across nearly half of the country and in every crucial 2014 state heading into the midterm elections. The RNC’s field staff are busy implementing a person-to-person grassroots organizing program to communicate with voters. Under the RNC’s new model, the ground game will be built from the bottom-up, with staff and volunteers focused on communicating and engaging with voters at the precinct level.

“Heading into 2014 the RNC is on the ground organizing in neighborhoods across the country earlier than we’ve ever been before,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “We’re building a long term operation in Iowa that will not only help us win elections in 2014 but also in 2016 and beyond.”

“We’re pleased to welcome Chad back to the team and his expertise will be invaluable as we work toward victories in 2014,” said Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker. “We’re rethinking how we build our field operation and Chad is a perfect fit to build our new bottom-up, precinct-level focused field organization.”

With today’s announcement, the RNC has state directors in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
