West Virginia Key to the GOP's 50 State Plan

CHARLESTON, W. VA. - The West Virginia Republican Party in partnership with the Republican National Committee has become one of twelve key states to be the first to put in place a State Director to build a top notch ground operation for 2014 and beyondWest Virginia is ready to move past the old guard that has failed the Mountain State. The WVGOP is the party of job creation, lower taxes and conservative family values. Under the leadership of Chairman Conrad Lucas, the WVGOP has done an exceptional job of raising money in an off-year.  We are ready for 2014 and the RNC's commitment to see our state succeed only furthers our confidence for Republican success in 2014.

"West Virginia will play a crucial role in the midterm elections and we're putting together a formidable operation to insure we deliver Republican victories," said WVGOP Executive Director Ward Wyatt.  "We're going to compete for every vote in the Mountain State and our early party building efforts will ensure we have the resources to do so."

"We're building the most expansive field program the GOP has ever seen, and we're doing it earlier than ever before," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "Republicans have never made this kind of investment in an off year. The RNC will be in communities engaging with and listening to voters where they live, work, and worship--not months, but years before Election Day. Our State Directors will play key roles in building a permanent field operation to be successful in elections this year, in 2014, in 2016, and beyond."

Ahead of Summer State Meeting, Matt Dailer, named Director of Field Operations for 2014 Midterm Elections

CHARLESTON, W.Va - The West Virginia Republican Party is very excited to announce Matt Dailer as our Director of Field Operations for the 2014 cycle.  Matt's prior success combined with his broad experience, existing relationships and knowledge of West Virginia will allow for a seamless onboarding process and ensure positive results.  With prior Victory experience and direct work with our state legislators, Matt is ready to take the reins of the Field Operations program in West Virginia.

Matt grew up in Wheeling where he graduated from Wheeling Park High School. Matt is a big fan of the Thundering Herd. He received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Marshall University. Matt's parents still reside in Wheeling where his father, James "Dubie" Dailer is Athletic Director at Bishop Donahue High School.

During the 2012 cycle, Matt operated one of the most successful Victory offices in West Virginia, serving the western half of the 2nd and 3rd Congressional Districts.  Considering the natural importance of retaining the 2nd Congressional District and the NRCC's targeting of the 3rd Congressional District, Matt's knowledge of the region will prove invaluable.  Matt instinctively developed relationships with key coalition groups in his region and provided leadership in an area of West Virginia, which has proven difficult in previous cycles.  Matt will be able to bring this direct field experience and knowledge statewide to lead comprehensive efforts.  Further, being a native to the northern panhandle of West Virginia, adds to his unmatched geographic knowledge.

In addition to Matt's Victory field experience, he has spent two legislative sessions working as an analyst for the Republican Senate caucus and has received glowing praise from leadership in both houses.  The level of comfort and credibility that he has established with elected Republicans statewide only further scaffolds Matt's natural fit for the Director of Field Operations position.
