Nov. 12, 2013--Veteran political
analyst Charlie Cook >
discussed the outlook for the 2014 midterm
elections at a National Journal
event held at the Newseum. Jennifer Duffy, senior editor of The Cook Political Report, and
David Wasserman, House editor for The
Cook
Political
Report, joined him. They identified two
major themes that could impact 2014 House and Senate races: continuing
trouble with the Republican brand and discontent in the second term of
a president which typically causes a loss of House seats for his party
("the six-year itch"). Cook founded The Cook Political Report in 1984;
he rates seats as solid, likely, lean or toss-up.
