41st Conservative Political Action Conference ...Next > |
March 6, 2014--Sen. Ted Cruz
(R-TX) led off the conference, joking that "by virtue of you being here
today, tomorrow morning each and every one of
you are going to be audited by the IRS, so I appreciate the courage of
your convictions." "How do we win elections? In the
contrast between corrupt Washington and
the American people, we stand with the American people. We stand
with a
straight-forward and bold and positive agenda to inspire the young, to
inspire women, to inspire Hispanics — to inspire everybody."
Cruz outlined ten points in his agenda: defend the Constitution, abolish the IRS, expand energy and high-paying jobs, expand school choice, repeal Dodd-Frank, audit the Federal Reserve, pass a strong balanced budget amendment, "repeal every single word of ObamaCare," stop the president's lawlessness, and end corporate welfare and crony capitalism.
