Presenting for Phoenix were: Former Sen. Jon Kyl, Co-Chair, Phoenix Host Committee; Bill Gates, Member, Phoenix City Council; Derrick Hall,  President and CEO, Arizona Diamondbacks; Steve Moore, President, Visit Phoenix; Paul Blue, Executive Assistant to the City Manager, City of Phoenix; Robert Graham, Chairman, Arizona Republican Party; Corinne Lovas, Phoenix Host Committee; Mike Liburdi, Partner, Snell and Wilmer; and Sally Forrest, Director of National Accounts, Visit Phoenix.

Additionally, Sen. John McCain was introduced by Sen. Kyl and made opening remarks.

Also attending as part of the Phoenix delegation were: Lisa Urias, Chairwoman of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber; Martin Quintana, Chief Economic Development Officer, Chicanos Por La Causa; Martin Havier, Vice President of the Salt River Pima Indian Community; and Steve Pierce, Member, Arizona State Senate.

Phoenix boasts the newest convention center of any of the bidding cities.  Their 147-page bid included letters from about 30 leaders.  Phoenix's preferred dates are July 11 and July 17.
