Feb. 27, 2014 - Tea Party Patriots marked the fifth anniversary of Tea Party movement with a day-long celebration at the Hyatt Regency featuring speeches by many of the leading figures of the movement.  To start the program a video traced the origins of the Tea Party movement. 
According to the video, "An out of control government has put the American Dream in jeopardy."
On Feb. 16, 2009 Seattle blogger Keli Carender organized a "Porkulus Protest."  This was the day before President Obama signed the $787 billion Recovery Act or stimulus bill.
On Feb. 19, 2009 CNBC's Rick Santelli (upper right) ranted against President Obama's mortgage bailout plan from the floor of the CME Group.  "We're thinking of having a Chicago Tea Party in July...," Santelli said.  The next day the first conference call was held.
On Feb. 27, 2009 there were protests in more than 40 cities.  The video concluded with a call to "build on five explosive and successful years."
Jenny Beth Martin, a co-founder and national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots.  "We know we still have a lot of work to do," she said.
