According to the map, 2,296 counties (74.8%) are NACo members and 773 (25.2%) are not members.  Additionally the map shows Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island as "county without government functions."

NACo is nonpartisan, but there are organizations for Democratic and for Republican county officials--National Democratic County Officials (NDCO) and the National Conference of Republican County Officials (NCRCO).  Both set up tables and had receptions in conjunction with the meeting.

Colin O'Dea is executive director of NDCO, "the official campaign arm of the Democratic Party dedicated to electing Democrats at the county level."  Chair of the NDCO is Arlanda J. Williams, councilwoman from Terrebonne Parish, LA.
