Sens. Sanders and Whitehouse Receive Petitions on Social Security...back >
March 12, 2015 - In U.S. Capitol Room 115, Max Richtman, president and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM), presented Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) with petitions and letters representing two million signatures the group has collected over the past year.   Sanders and Whitehouse vowed to protect Social Security from cuts due to "manufactured crises."  Pat Cotton, a retiree from Hyattsville, MD, also spoke.
