May 21, 2016--CD 1 delegate candidates and their supporters make their pitches.  On the Clinton side there were 18 males and 16 females running for three male and four female slots.  Above Hector Rodriguez was one of the more engaging candidates.  He attended the 1976 Democratic National Convention and has run for City Council a couple of times.  Rodriguez, a Vietnam veteran, is president of Latinos for DC Statehood, and heads "Latino Voters for America" (LAVA).  He said Democrats should "build a wall to keep Donald Trump out of the White House."  He was not part of a slate.
John Fanning, chairman of ANC 2F, who works in the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations & Services had a contingent of supporters to help him hand out his lit. piece.  He was not part of a slate.
John Carlos Green is an ANC Commissioner representing U Street.  He was not part of a slate.
Councilman Jack Evans, above with Peter Rosenstein and with Councilwoman Brianne K. Nadeau, all members of "The Official Hillary for President Slate." [ed. It was not official].
Mario Cristaldo, an at-large DC Democratic State Committeeman, running on the Democrats Moving Forward for Hillary slate.
M. Mindy Moretti, part of the Democrats Moving Forward for Hillary slate, brought four dozen doughnuts to help make her case.
Democrats Moving Forward for Hillary supporter hands out a flyer along with a Ritz crackers incentive.  In CD 1 Democrats Moving Forward ran four male candidates for three spots and five female candidates for four spots.  (Ed. note.  It might have been more effective to run three and four so their support wasn't diluted).  They ran a total of 20 candidates in the two congressional districts.
Lauren Marie Luchi, part of the Hillary Rocks the Capital slate, is manager of AFT Retirees at the American Federation of Teachers.
Richard Ponzio, part of the Hillary Rocks the Capital slate, worked in the Clinton State Department.
Sarah Margolis, running on the Millennials for Hillary slate, has a background in economics and political communication (GWU, 2014).  
Laura Shuey-Kostelac, running on the Millennials for Hillary slate, works for a pr firm and has a background in political communication (GWU, 2014).
Gregg Moreland teamed up with James Wyatt (CD2) in a Rainbow Umbrella slate.  He attended the 2012 Democratic National Convention as a alternate from Oregon.

Sanders Delegate Candidate
Chuck Rocha, founder and president of Solidarity Strategies, is a senior advisor to Bernie Sanders' campaign.  He served as labor director on the presidential campaigns of Dick Gephardt and John Edwards.
Jeff Cruz, candidate for delegate is a senior advisor to Sen. Sanders on the Budget Committee.
John Alexander van Schiack, candidate for delegate, is a labor attorney and served as labor outreach director for the Sanders campaign in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Rita Collins, member of NNU and candidate for delegate.
