Rubio Campaign Announces New Congressional And Statewide Endorsements In Arkansas

Today, Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin, Congressman Steve Womack, and Congressman Rick Crawford endorsed Marco Rubio for president. Today's announcement comes in addition to the team that the Rubio Campaign is building in Arkansas led by state senator Bart Hester.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin has been a champion of conservative issues in Arkansas, and in Washington D.C. as he represented Arkansas’ Second Congressional District from 2011-2015.

Congressman Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’ Third District since 2011. In Congress, Womack has promoted fiscal conservatism as he currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee. Prior to his time in Congress, Womack served as Mayor of Rogers, Arkansas from 1998-2011.

Congressman Rick Crawford represents Arkansas’ First District, where he serves on the House Agriculture and Transportation Committees. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1985-1989 and was a radio host prior to being elected to Congress.

"We can't afford to elect a president who will continue Barack Obama’s failed policies,” said Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin. “Marco Rubio is the Republican presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Democrats are most scared to run against because his energy, enthusiasm and positive conservative vision for a stronger America contrasts with the Democrats tired, old ideas."

“Marco Rubio is a next-generation conservative who has lived the American dream and offers innovative ideas for America’s future,” said Congressman Steve Womack. “With Marco Rubio, we are getting an unabashed conservative that can win a general election and find new solutions to the lingering challenges facing our country. I am proud to back Marco and encourage Arkansans to join us in supporting him on March 1.”

“Marco Rubio is a serious conservative leader that offers the right policies to reverse the damage done by Barack Obama these past seven years” said Congressman Rick Crawford. “Marco has the ability to unite and expand our party, and also will be able to defeat whomever the Democrats nominate this fall. I’m proud to throw my support behind his candidacy and will be working hard for him in Arkansas and across the country on issues like our debt crisis where we face over $19 trillion in debt and growing."

“Our campaign is thrilled to have earned the support of three Arkansas leaders that have been strong advocates for conservative principles in Little Rock and in Washington, D.C.,” said Jeremy Adler, regional spokesman for Marco Rubio for President. “Republicans across the country continue to join our campaign because they understand that Marco’s optimistic message will unify our party and allow us to defeat Hillary Clinton with a new, forward-thinking vision for America.”
