DONALD J. TRUMP CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES TEXAS LT. GOVERNOR DAN PATRICK TO SERVE AS STATE CHAIRMAN

SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Donald J. Trump or President Campaign today announced that Lt. Governor Dan Patrick will serve as the State Chairman for Texas.

“Lt. Governor Patrick is a passionate conservative who has been a good friend to our campaign. He shares my commitment to make the border secure, grow the economy, fix our schools, protect the Second Amendment and Make America Great Again,” said Trump. “I am happy to have him aboard.”

Patrick, who has campaigned in Texas with the Republican nominee several times in the past few weeks, said he was honored to take an official role as Texas Chairman of the Trump campaign. “My primary goal is to unite our party in Texas. I want to ensure a solid Trump win and to remind Republican voters, and the new Trump voters who came out in the primary, to support the entire Republican ticket from the White House to the Court House,” Patrick said.

“Texas voters know if Hillary Clinton is elected, she will continue Obama’s job-killing policies and pack the Supreme Court with liberals. They know that a secure border, a strong ‘America First’ economy with reduced taxes, real parental choice for our children, thoughtful national security and a repeal of Obamacare are essential if we are to reverse the damage that has been done over the past eight years,” Patrick concluded.

A pre-eminent voice for principled conservative policies both in Texas and across the nation, Patrick was elected Lt. Governor of Texas in 2014, winning the general election by almost 20 points, with historic levels of support from Hispanic voters and women. He has been a strong defender of the Constitution and a leader on reducing property taxes and passing school choice.

Trump Texas State Director Joshua Jones called Patrick an “inspirational conservative leader” who will play a key role in getting Trump’s America First message to Texas voters and help recruit Texans to volunteer in the key battleground states.

“Our Lt. Governor has been a courageous voice both in Texas and nationwide and I am pleased to work with him directly to take Mr. Trump’s positive agenda directly to the people and restore law and order in our country,” Jones said. “Texas voters are solidly united behind Donald Trump and Mike Pence and will vote Republican from the top of the ticket to the bottom of the ballot.”

Jones said one role Patrick will play is expanding the famous “Mighty Texas Strike Force,” which deploys hundreds of Texas volunteers in battleground states to knock on the doors of the voters who will decide this election. He noted that a new “America First” smartphone app has been launched to help get the message out to communities nationwide.
