MANCHESTER, N.H. --
Earlier today, flanked by dozens of Granite State residents and
progressive activists, Democracy for America and MoveOn Political
Action formally launched the New Hampshire component of the “Run Warren
Run” campaign, the groups’ joint effort to convince Sen. Elizabeth
Warren to run for President in 2016.
At the event, held at the Riverside Room in Waumbec Mill
Building in Manchester, Charles Chamberlain, Executive
Director of Democracy for America; Victoria Kaplan, MoveOn.org’s Lead
Campaign Director were joined by dozens of NH residents interested in
seeing Warren, a fighter for middle class and working families with a
record of standing up to corporate interests and Wall Street banks,
enter New Hampshire’s First in the Nation 2016 Democratic primary.
“Granite State democrats know that Senator
Warren is our most powerful voice in the fight against income
inequality, capable of rallying our country to take aggressive action
to protect struggling working families, hold powerful special interests
accountable, and end the wealthy’s grip on government,” said Charles
Chamberlain,
Executive
Director
of
Democracy for America. “This
is Senator Warren’s moment and, with the help of the grassroots
progressive base right here in New Hampshire, we’re going to encourage
her to seize it.”
“The response that we’re hearing from folks in New Hampshire
in the first few days of this effort makes it clear - that people are
hungry for Sen. Warren to get into this race,” said Victoria Kaplan, Lead Campaign Director for
MoveOn.org. “In the weeks ahead, the organizers
right here in New Hampshire will build a grassroots army for Senator
Warren one person, one conversation, and one living room at a time.”

- Victoria Kaplan, Lead Campaign Director, MoveOn.org
- Jake Belanger, Epsom, NH native
- NH State Representative Robert
“Renny” Cushing, Rockingham,
NH
Ahead of the meeting in Manchester, the Run Warren Run
Campaign ran a full-page ad in the Concord Monitor and Union-Leader
with the signatures to hundreds of NH residents who have signed the
petition asking Warren to consider a 2016 presidential bid.

Earlier this week, MoveOn announced the hiring of a Run Warren
Run Iowa field director and four additional field organizers based in
the state, and the opening of a campaign office in Des Moines.
The announcement comes less than one month after more than 100 Iowans
met in Des Moines to kick off the Run Warren Run effort in the state.
In December, more than 81% of voting MoveOn members and
87% of Democracy for America members opted to support an effort to
encourage Elizabeth Warren to run for President citing her continuous
efforts to fix a rigged political and economic system that is failing
America’s
families. MoveOn and Democracy for America have together pledged
to invest at least $1.25 million into the effort. Nationwide,
more than 240,000 Americans have signed on to support the growing
campaign, which is being run by MoveOn and Democracy for America.
The Run Warren Run campaign website and launch video at
RunWarrenRun.org focus on telling the story of the Massachusetts
Senator, who has become known as a tireless, passionate advocate for
giving all Americans a fighting chance in an economy rigged in favor of
big banks and corporate interests.

Late last week, DFA and MoveOn announced that more than 200,000 Americans had signed on to join the Run Warren Run effort at RunWarrenRun.org.
In mid-December, after securing the support of a stunning 87.6% of the group’s members, Democracy for America announced that it was going “all-in” with its allies at MoveOn to draft Sen. Elizabeth Warren into the 2016 presidential race. Together, the groups have committed to invest at least $1,250,000 into the Run Warren Run effort.
Run Warren Run has hired staff and will be opening offices in early primary and caucus states like New Hampshire and Iowa to recruit the volunteer army Senator Warren will need to run; build key political support for Warren’s entrance into the race; and produce ads, videos and cultural interventions that tell the story of Senator Warren’s fight for working families and her powerful, populist progressive vision for our country’s future.
