National Federation of Independent Business highly encouraged by outcome
WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 4, 2014 -- Dan Danner,
President and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business
(NFIB), the country’s leading advocate for small business owners, this
evening issued the following statement in response to the election
outcome:
“Small business owners believe overwhelmingly that Washington is
principally responsible for the country’s economic problems and for
that reason a change of leadership in the Senate was crucial. We
are highly encouraged by the outcome and we look forward to working
with the new Congress and the President to advance an economic agenda
that promotes private sector growth.
“Small business is half the economy. It accounts for half the
Gross National Product and it provides half the jobs. More than
anything else small business needs freedom to grow. That means
lower taxes, fewer rules and a federal bureaucracy that is restrained
from imposing itself unduly on Americans whose ambition, imagination
and grit will otherwise make us all more prosperous.”
