Key SC Leaders Endorse Jeb Bush – Say He’s Only Candidate Ready To Be Commander In Chief

Today, South Carolina Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman, SC State Senator Ross Turner, SC State Representative Kirkman Finlay and former U.S. Congressman Henry Brown are endorsing Jeb Bush for President.

Spearman is the fourth statewide elected official in South Carolina to endorse Governor Bush, and Turner, Finlay and Brown are among multiple legislators to support the campaign. Spearman was elected as superintendent of education in 2014 and Turner and Finlay were both elected in 2012.  Brown represented South Carolina’s first congressional district from 1985-2001.

Previous statewide endorsements include U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and Adjutant General Bob Livingston.  Other legislators include House Majority Leader Bruce Bannister, Senator Paul Thurmond, Senator Katrina Shealy, Representative Ralph Norman, Representative Samuel Rivers and Representative Dennis Moss.

“Education is an issue not only tied to student success but also keeping our country aware of the very real threats we face. I trust Governor Bush to not only implement state-driven education policy, but also to keep our families protected from harm and keep national security as a top priority,” Spearman said.

“We live in dangerous times, and Jeb Bush will be a Commander in Chief that will restore American strength at home and abroad.  He has the confidence of the nation’s military leaders and our veterans, and that is all that South Carolina needs to hear,” Turner said.

“There is no question in my mind that Governor Bush is the leader our party needs to lead us to victory in November.  His impressive record in Florida makes him the strongest candidate to beat Hillary Clinton nationally,” said Finlay. “Now, more than ever, we need a dependable leader with strong core, conservative convictions to keep our nation on track, and that’s why I am proud to endorse Governor Bush.”
