Boston Globe: Jane Swift, William Weld back Jeb Bush
A few of the big stars in the modest-sized Massachusetts Republican firmament are throwing their weight behind former Florida governor Jeb Bush’s presidential candidacy.

Former governor William Weld and former acting governor Jane Swift have signed on with Bush, planning to host Bush campaign events and help with get-out-the-vote efforts, according to a Bush campaign official.

Along with Weld and Swift, who account for two of the state’s three living former GOP governors, former lieutenant governor Kerry Healey, now president of Babson College, and Jan Cellucci, widow of the late former governor Paul Cellucci, are formally backing the Bush campaign.
Bush has already picked up support from the state’s GOP establishment. In July, Beth Myers and Peter Flaherty, longtime aides to Mitt Romney, the former governor and 2012 presidential nominee, announced they were joining the campaign as senior advisers. Ron Kaufman, the state’s national GOP committeeman and a longtime supporter of the Bush family, has also provided support.

Along with the senior Republicans, the campaign said co-chairs of its college campus effort in the state would be Emily Arterbury of Boston University and Aaron Hendricks of Harvard University.

Former Governor Bill Weld
Jeb Bush exemplifies the kind of leadership we need to renew America and to restore our leadership role in the world. With Jeb’s strong values and successful record as Governor of Florida, I am confident as President he would get America back on the path toward job creation, rapid economic growth, and a stronger position in the world.

Former Governor Jane Swift
Jeb is commited to improving education and developing America’s workforce in order to ensure we can compete in the 21st century economy.  Jeb’s positive vision for the future, and a passion for freedom and liberty are just a few of the reasons that I am supporting him for President.

Former Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey
Governor Bush has an extraordinary record of success in closing the achievement gap for Black, Hispanic and low income children in the Florida schools, and his innovative policies to increase high school graduation, school choice and access to higher education are unequaled. America's competitiveness and the restoration of economic opportunity depends on our next president valuing and prioritizing high-quality education for all.

Former First Lady Jan Cellucci
There are many candidates focused on what’s wrong with America. Jeb understands clearly both the disparities and the opportunities. He is fully ready to lead the country with a hopeful vision, firm conviction and steadfast ideals.

Republican National Committeeman Ron Kaufman
Governor Bush is a true conservative leader with a long-term vision for this country and the skills implement it. Our country needs a President that can re-energize our nation and recapture our greatness and Jeb Bush is that leader.
