New Campaign Initiative & Video - Why I'm All In for Jeb

As reported by National Review, our campaign launched a campaign-wide, national effort to educate voters about Jeb’s policy proposals and initiatives, specifically his strong record of advocating policies of key importance to women and his field-leading record of appointing women leaders.

The campaign kicked off the initiative, Women Rise, with a video, “Why I’m for Jeb,” featuring women from diverse range of backgrounds discussing why they are supporting Jeb Bush, including his foreign policy and national security proposals; his policies to turn our economy around and raise wages; his dedication to ensuring all children have access to a quality education; his support for our military and military families; his work to prevent domestic violence and substance abuse; and more. Jeb is the tested leader with a strong record of getting things done.

As part of this initiative, the campaign will hold policy briefings with women across the country on a variety of important issues, including national security, foreign policy, health care, tax policy and education.

The Women Rise National Steering Committee is listed below and consists of grassroots activists, policy leaders and elected officials. These women will lead the charge in spreading the word about Jeb’s leadership, record, and commitment to issues of importance to all voters. Background info is below as well.

Background Info:

During his tenure as Governor of Florida, Jeb made more than 8,000 appointments to boards, commissions and various state positions. Women comprised 45 percent of these appointments, a higher percentage than any previous Florida governor. In Jeb’s administration, women held the senior positions of Chief of Staff, General Counsel, Budget Director, Solicitor General, Communications Director, Press Secretary, Director of External Affairs and Director of Appointments. As a result of his leadership, at the end of his governorship the number of female judges had increased by 51 percent. He also appointed the state’s first female lieutenant governor, Toni Jennings, who has been active on the campaign trail with Jeb.

Under Governor Bush’s leadership, Florida’s economy provided a climate where female entrepreneurs and business owners could thrive. Florida not only ranked fourth in the nation in the number of women-owned businesses when Jeb was in office, but was also home to the second-fastest growth in women-owned businesses from 2002 to 2007. From 1999 to 2006, women’s median earnings grew three times faster in Florida than it did in the nation as a whole.
