DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT REGARDING BRITISH REFERENDUM ON E.U. MEMBERSHIP

The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples. They have declared their independence from the European Union and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy. A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.

Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.
The White House

Statement by the President on the UK Referendum

The people of the United Kingdom have spoken, and we respect their decision.  The special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom is enduring, and the United Kingdom’s membership in NATO remains a vital cornerstone of U.S. foreign, security, and economic policy.  So too is our relationship with the European Union, which has done so much to promote stability, stimulate economic growth, and foster the spread of democratic values and ideals across the continent and beyond.  The United Kingdom and the European Union will remain indispensable partners of the United States even as they begin negotiating their ongoing relationship to ensure continued stability, security, and prosperity for Europe, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the world.

Joe--

We all woke up to the news that the United Kingdom is leaving the European Union.

Now, David Cameron is resigning as the UK's prime minister, the pound is plummeting, and stock markets the world over are dealing with massive levels of uncertainty.

Right up until the moment the outcome of the vote was announced, political observers and financial analysts were confident that the referendum to leave the EU would fail. They never actually processed the possibility of a different result.

We can't make the same mistake.

No matter what the collective wisdom of our political punditry has to say between now and November, Donald Trump has a real chance of winning this election. Together, we have to wrap our minds around that fact -- and resolve to act on it.

This week, that possibility became all the more tangible. Trump's campaign manager was floundering, and now he's out. Trump released some bad fundraising news, so his supporters stepped up to boost the campaign with $5 million in contributions. People said that Trump's political operation was understaffed, and now new hires are popping up every day.

But we understand exactly what we're up against, and between now and the end of the month, we have an opportunity to prove it. We’re looking at a huge quarterly fundraising deadline, and we can use it to show exactly how committed we are to winning this election.

Can we count on you to step up? We need 29 donations from your area today to stay on pace to hit our goal of 250,000 more contributions before June 30th, and your donation will make a big difference (plus, we’ll send you a free sticker to say thank you!):

Thanks,

Christina
