Aug. 10 - Wins primary with 84.6% of the vote.   Nov. 2 - Elected to the U.S. Senate with 48.9% of the vote, def. Charlie Crist (I) at 29.7% and Kendrick Meek (D)at 20.2%.
Oct. 2011 - Forms Reclaim America PAC. One of five considered by Mitt Romney to be his running mate.
Aug. 30 - Speech at the Republican National Convention. >
Feb. 12 - Delivers the Republican response to the State of the Union Address. >

Decides whether to run for president, seek re-election to the U.S. Senate, or go to the private sector.

Jan. 20 - Age on Inauguration Day  45 years, 8.8 months old.

Jan. 11 - In the special runoff election Republican primary Rubio def. Angel Zayon by 51.2% to 48.8% (1,415 to 1,351).  Jan. 25 - In the special general election def. A. Garcia (D) by 71.% to 28.4%.

Dec.  10 - Speaker of the House Johnnie Byrd names Rubio majority leader of the House.
During 2003 Rubio forms Floridians for Conservative Leadership and Floridians for Conservative Leadership in Government.
Nov. - Rubio secures votes to become Speaker in 2006.
Nov. 2 - Rubio def. Laura Leyva (D) by 66.3% to 33.7%.  Attorney at Haggard Parks, P.A., 2004; attorney at Broad and Cassel, 2004-08.
