Carson America Exploratory Committee Names Iowa Co-chairs

Dr. Ben Carson’s Team Adds Couple With Deep Iowa Roots

Washington, DC: Today, Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential exploratory committee has added Iowa co-chairs State Representative Rob Taylor and Dr. Christi Taylor to their team. Prospective campaign manager, Barry Bennett said, “We are really happy to incorporate the level of talent the Taylors bring to our organization. We are fortunate to have people of their caliber on our team.”

Representative Taylor said of the appointment, “We are honored to join Dr. Carson’s presidential exploratory committee. We’ve heard from many of our friends in Iowa and they are excited about the prospect of Dr. Carson throwing his hat in the presidential race.” 

Dr. Taylor added, “We are thrilled Dr. Carson is considering a run for the White House and are excited to join Carson America Exploratory Committee. We look forward to sharing Dr. Carson’s inspiring story and vision for America with the great people of Iowa.”



State Representative Rob Taylor
 A lifelong Iowan and West Des Moines resident, Rob Taylor is serving his second term in the Iowa House of Representatives. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Ethics Committee and has also been appointed to the Appropriations, Economic Growth, Human Resources and Education Appropriations committees, and former vice chairman of the Environmental Protection committee.

Taylor continues to work with the Dallas County Republican Central Committee where he has served on the executive team since 2008. He was Organizational Chair and then Chair of the Dallas County Republicans, from 2009-2011 and has worked on several successful political campaigns.

Taylor is also an adjunct professor for William Penn University and Des Moines Area Community College. The Taylors have four children and live in West Des Moines, Dallas County, Iowa.
   
Dr. Christi Taylor 
Dr. Taylor is an internal medicine physician practicing at The Iowa Clinic and serves as their Chief Quality Officer focusing on population health management. She is the chairman of The Iowa Clinic Healthcare Foundation and chair of the Department of Medicine at Unity Point's Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. 

Dr. Taylor has served on the Dallas County, Iowa, Central Committee since 2008, and for the past two years as the chair of the Dallas County GOP executive committee. She has assisted with multiple state house and senatorial races and the political campaigns of Congressman Tom Latham, Governor Terry Branstad, and Gov. Mitt Romney's presidential bid.
