REVEREND QUESTIONS VP JOE BIDEN ON IMMIGRATION DELAY

“White House Still Politicizing Immigration”

DE SMOINES, IA-  "I think the President made the right decision because it would have politicized [immigration] so much between now and November and that it would probably dismiss any possibility of them finally acting," answered Vice President Joe Biden when asked on President Obama's immigration delay.  "But they got one more chance to act. But I promise you he will be responding," he said to Reverend Alejandro Alfaro-Santiz of Des Moines.

Inspired by Dreamers for confronting politicians, Reverend Alfaro Santiz attended the Nuns on the Bus to continue questioning Democrats on the immigration delay.

“We appreciate Vice President Biden's frank response; however, giving Republicans one more chance to act on immigration shows the Obama Administration and Democrats playing political games with the lives of millions of families," said Cesar Vargas, co-Director of the Dream Action Coalition, who confronted Hillary Clinton on the same topic this weekend.

"The time has passsed for Republicans to act on immigration. Circumstances would be different if there was genuine efforts by the Speaker. However, time and time again the Speaker has shown that he can't even manage the politics of his own conference let alone manage significant legislation in his chamber. Senator Ted Cruz has been more effective in controlling House members than Speaker Boehner," added Mr. Vargas.

“Either the President's advisors are very naive in believing Republicans will take up immigration reform in the Lame Duck, or they are driving a deceptive campaign to keep Latinos from blaming Democrats,” added Ryan Campbell of the Dream Action Coalition.

: How are you?

Rev. Alfaro Santiz: I just wanted to ask you.  What's your position on delaying executive action on immigration?

VP Joe Biden: I think the President made the right decision because I think it would have politicized it so much between now and November that it probably would dismiss any possibility of them finally acting.  But they got one more chance to act.  But I promise you he will be responding.
