NV Dems Announce Cory Warfield as 2016 Presidential Caucus Director

Having worked for Sen. Harry Reid’s reelection in 2010, Warfield returns to Nevada after leading coordinated campaign efforts for Sen. Kay Hagan in 2014 and Sen. Sherrod Brown in 2012

Las Vegas, NV – Today, the Nevada State Democratic Party announced the hiring of Cory Warfield as the Party’s 2016 Presidential Caucus Director.  Warfield will oversee the Party’s organizing efforts around the caucuses.  The 2016 Presidential Caucuses are a unique organizing opportunity to get Democratic volunteers and activists engaged early in the election cycle which will help lay the groundwork for Democratic victories up and down the ballot next November.

Having worked on Nevada Senator Harry Reid’s historic 2010 victory, Warfield returns to Nevada after having served as Coordinated Campaign Director in North Carolina for Senator Kay Hagan’s reelection campaign – a campaign that was called one of the “best in the county” in 2014.  In 2012, Warfield was Field Director for Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown’s successful reelection campaign.

“We are thrilled to have a smart and talented operative like Cory back in Nevada to oversee our presidential caucus efforts in 2016,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange.  “We fought hard to preserve Nevada’s caucuses so Nevada can maintain our early state status on the presidential nominating calendar for the long term.  But the caucuses are not just about selecting our Democratic nominee for President; they are a critical organizing opportunity to engage our key volunteers to win Nevada for the Democratic nominee for President, elect Catherine Cortez Masto as our next Senator, take back our majorities in the Nevada legislature, and elect more Democrats to Congress.  Cory’s experience leading field efforts in Nevada and other swing states will be pivotal to Democratic successes up and down the ballot next November.”

“I’m excited to return to Nevada in such a pivotal election cycle for the state,” said Warfield.  “The caucuses are incredibly important not just in protecting Nevada’s influence in the presidential nominating calendar, but also in electing Democrats who will fight to expand the middle class and ensure every Nevadan has a fair shot at success.  The Koch Brothers will spend countless sums to try to buy the election in Nevada, but our early organizing for the caucuses will help us fight back and elect Democrats who will stand with working families, not billionaires and out of state special interests.”

The 2016 Nevada Democratic Presidential Caucuses are scheduled for February 20th, 2016.
