OVERVIEW
In the May 20, 2008 Kentucky primary, Hillary Clinton defeated Barack
Obama by 459,511 votes (65.5%) to 209,954 votes (29.9%).
Now,
eight years later, the
Clinton campaign looked to rebound after losses in Indiana and West
Virginia. Clinton eked out a very narrow win, tallying less than
half the votes she had obtained in 2008.
The
closed primary favored Clinton.
In
addition to visits by Hillary Clinton and family, the campaign resumed
advertising with a modest buy in Kentucky.
Clinton's
margin

Sanders campaign
requested a recanvass, but that did not change the results (+).
(Republicans already voted in a March 5 caucus).

OVERVIEW
Oregon fit the profile of a state where Bernie Sanders could do
well. Sanders made an early visit on March 25, rallying at the
Moda Center in Portland; this was the event where a bird famously
alighted on Sanders' podium as he was speaking. Sen. Jeff Merkley
was the only one of Sanders' colleagues to back him, writing in an
April
13 op-ed in the New York Times
that, "Bernie Sanders is boldly and fiercely addressing the biggest
challenges facing our country (>)."
According
to
the
Oregon
Secretary
of
State
there
were
956,184 Democrats eligible
to vote in the primary.
Sanders
carried every county except Gilliam, where Clinton edged him by 101 to
100 with 8 misc. votes.
