DPA Elects National Convention Delegates

LITTLE ROCK – Today, HL Moody, Director of Communications for the Democratic Party of Arkansas, released the following statement:

“At the Democratic Party of Arkansas’s Special State Convention, held in Conway on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas, twenty-two delegates were elected for Sec. Hillary Clinton and 10 delegates were elected for Sen. Bernie Sanders. Hundreds of Clinton and Sanders supporters came together to elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention in the spirit of Party unity.”

“The delegate selection process, as required by the Democratic National Committee, ensures that our delegation reflects the diversity of Arkansas’s people. It requires we elect African Americans, Asian Americans, Caucasians, Latinos and Hispanic Americans, LGBT people, Native Americans, seniors, youths, veterans, and Arkansans with disabilities to serve as delegates to the National Convention. This transparent, democratic process taps into our Party’s closely held values of diversity and inclusion.”
