May13, 2016 Deadline for candidate appearing on the Presidential Primary ballot or his or her designee to submit list of delegates and alternate delegates to Chairman of California Republican Party (CRP Bylaws, Section 6.01(B)(1).)


May 17, 2016 Last day for write-in presidential candidates to file declarations with the Secretary of State in order to have write-in votes counted. (Calif. Elections Code § 6441)

June 27,2016 Deadline for Chairman of California Republican Party to submit list of delegates and alternate delegates by Congressional District entitled to certificates of election by Secretary of State to the Secretary of the RNC (CRP Bylaws, Section 6.01(B)(3).)


July 5, 2016 Deadline for Secretary of State and county election officials to publish tabulation of votes cast by party to the public (Calif. Elections Code §§ 15375(c), 15500)


July 7, 2016 Last day for Presidential candidate or his or her designee to submit to the Secretary of State a list of alternates to delegates by Congressional district to the Republican National Convention (Calif. Elections Code § 6461(b).)


July 9, 2016 Deadline for Secretary of State to file statement of canvassed returns of the Presidential Primary ballot and issue certificates to Presidential nominee and to the delegates (Calif. Elections Code § 6420)


July 17, 2016 Last day for a write-in candidate who attains a plurality of the vote at the Presidential Primary election to file a list of delegates to the national convention with the California Secretary of State (Calif. Elections Code § 6442)[Note difference in party rule requirement].


July 22, 2016 Last day for California Republican Party to file a list of delegates if write-in Presidential candidate receiving a plurality of votes cast fails to file a list of delegates by July 4, 2016. (Calif. Elections Code § 6443)

How do I join the California Delegation as a guest?
Fill out this Guest Inquiry Form and the California Delegation staff will get back to you quickly with more information.
 
When is the delegation orientation meeting?
Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.  If you are a member of the California Delegation and have not yet RSVP’d for this meeting, emaildelegation@cagop.org today.
 
 How do I know if I’m a Delegate?
Delegates and alternates were chosen by the individual campaigns, and were notified directly by the campaigns.  If you are unsure if you are a delegate or an alternate delegate, please visit the Delegate Lists section of this webpage (see sidebar menu).
 
Are there any restrictions on what I can bring to Cleveland?
Please click here to view a list of prohibited items at the Republican National Convention.
 
Will the Delegation be providing transportation to and from the airport?
Yes.  When you complete your delegation participation form, you will be providing your flight information.  California Delegation staff will be coordinating airport transportation to and from the Cleveland airport and the Kalahari resort during peak travel times.
 
When should I be in Cleveland?
We recommend you arrive on Saturday, July 16 and depart on Friday, July 22.
 
How many people are in the California Delegation?
Total: 341

    • 159 (3 delegates per Congressional District)
    • 10 delegates at large
    • 3 pre-determined (State Chair, National Committeewoman, National Committeeman)

What are the requirements for being a delegate?
You must be a registered Republican and a resident of the Congressional District you are representing. You must attend the Delegation Meeting on Saturday, June 25, 2016 near LAX. You must commit to vote for the presidential candidate by whom you are selected.
