Local 3 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Endorse Hillary Clinton for President

Brooklyn, NY — Hillary Clinton has received the endorsement of the Local 3 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), who cited her strong support for New York’s working families, and her long-time support for the labor community.

“Hillary Clinton is the only credible candidate in this race that has our interests at heart and while she stands with those struggling to hold on to our middle-class standards, she also brings hope to many working class Americans that have slipped behind,” said Christopher Erikson, Business Manager of the Local 3 IBEW. “She is the most qualified in the field, and will get results.”

“I am extremely proud to have the endorsement of Chris Erikson, the Local 3 IBEW, and so many of the hard-working men and women of the labor community,” said Clinton. “If we want to get serious about raising incomes, we have to get serious about supporting union workers. That’s why I believe it’s time we finally raise the minimum wage, join every other industrialized country in the world and support paid family leave, and expand investments in programs that will create more good paying jobs. I will never stop fighting for the American worker.”

As president, Clinton will strengthen unions and protect worker bargaining power, raise the minimum wage and strengthen overtime rules, and support working families through equal pay, paid family leave, fair schedules, and quality, affordable child care. She’ll support expanding investments in infrastructure to create good, union jobs. And she’ll protect retirement security and pushback against any attempts undermine retirement benefits.

The Local 3 IBEW endorsement adds to the growing list of labor support Clinton has earned across New York State. More than 25 labor organizations have already endorsed Clinton in the Democratic primary.
